Belt Bowling 2020
Who do y’all think is bowling this year?
If I have a guess I would say everyone from the East and Louisiana.
6 total this year.

Well l know for sure ULM is already in a bowl...the toilet bowl and we have really stunk it up, he’ll we can’t even beat the turds already in the bowl. Even when this disaster ends we still don’t have anything to look forward to next year if we have any players left on the roster......

RE: Belt Bowling 2020
Obviously those that get to 6 wins (or at least above .500) have the best chance. I'd say at minimum Coastal, App State, Louisiana, and Georgia Southern. The two others that are even possible are Troy and Georgia State since they are both hovering close to .500. As more and more bowls cancel/are moved around it becomes clear that even though the 6 win rule is not in effect this year, best records will apply more than ever, especially for us G5s. The AAC just got one of their bowls yanked from them. I suspect ESPN will be making a number of bowl switches in the next couple of weeks.

Guess who’s bowl streak is over? You’re such a good guesser.

The SBC generally leans east most years, but it's crazy how skewed to the east the SB divisions are this year. There is ONE team in the west with a winning record, and the other 4 teams aren't even close to .500. Meanwhile Troy is the worst team in the East but is sitting at .500 and will likely go into bowl season at 6-6. Georgia State ended their regular season at 5-4 and is guaranteed a .500 record with a bowl loss (worst case scenario). The other 3 teams are guaranteed winning records as a worst case scenario.

UMass and Bowling Green are awful too, maybe we could get one of them in a Toilet Bowl

Five teams will be in a bowl; six if CCU makes the NY6.

App or Southern will end up in Nola, but after that it gets a lot more difficult to figure out where teams go. With Coastal a NY6 threat, I don't expect anyone to know their bowl destination early this year...

That would likely leave out one of Troy/GaState

Conference will rank teams 1-10; top five get the games.

Right...see above post. Coastal/ULL are locks for bowling this year. App/GaSouthern have okay winning records but most importantly, the type of fanbases that bowls like. There's such a rift in the conference after team 6, that the only two teams left for consideration are Troy/GaState. There are a couple of things that could change all of this...one being bowl cancellations, and another being schools opting out of the bowl season.

No, not right. Again, the conference will rank the teams 1-10 based on league record and those teams will get the bowls.

Going by what you just said. Check out the records. Who's left? Here, I'll even write them out for you.
Coastal 10-0 (7-0)
Louisiana 9-1 (7-1)
APP 7-3 (5-2)
GaSouthern 7-4 (4-3)
GaState 5-4 (4-4)
Troy 5-5 (3-3)
The rest all losing record with no possibility of breaking .500
As stated before, you can remove StAte, USA, TxSt, and ULM from consideration. Of that group, StAte and USA are tied at 4-7 but USA has the edge in conference wins and losses. That leaves 6 viable teams for 5 slots. Coastal and Louisiana are going bowling. Period. App and GS play each other this week...both of which maintain better records with a loss than GaState (who is done with their schedule). Troy has two more games left, and could conceivably get to 7-5, which would help their bowl chances considerably. No matter how you slice it, if we truly are talking about 5 slots, it comes down to Troy/GaState.

Yes, it comes down to Troy and Georgia State. 7-5 has nothing to do with it, conference record has all to do with it. Georgia State/Southern have the advantage over Troy due to H2H, so if Troy wants to go bowling they have to win out or hope that Coastal gets a new year's six game.
.500 has nothing to do with it either; everyone is bowl eligible.
