Coppin State
It appears that we're actually going to have basketball at the DAC this afternoon for the home opener. Pictures of the DAC Pack are in full force behind the baskets. And the soundtrack of the loud and enthusiastic Drexel fans will be intimidating to the Bald Eagles and hopefully help lead the Dragons to victory this afternoon.

Today's game can be seen for free across the region on NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus, and anywhere with a subscription to FloHoops.

Coppin State lost both games played thus far. They battled #9 Duke in front of a raucous soundtrack of fake crowd noise at Cameron Indoor. Bald Eagles trailed by 17 at halftime but played tough in the second half and lost 81-71. Then they lost 85-69 to GW yesterday in a makeup game. So CSU has to do something you don't see much in CBB, play 2 games in 2 different cities in back to back days.

I will predict a hard fought 7 point Drexel victory this afternoon, 77-70.

RE: Coppin State
Drexel picked up the pace and had a solid first half, leading 42-34. The started off slow struggling to handle CSU's defensive pressure and trailed 6-0.
CSU lead 13-8 before Drexel took control with a 15-3 run.

Great 3 point shooting for the Dragons. Okros hit 3 of them and leads scoring with 9 points.

Dragons struggling a bit offensively of late and missed out on numerous opportunities to break the game open. They're still holding strong leading 63-50 at the U8 timeout. Cam making some big plays in the 2nd half and he's now the leading scorer at 15.

Drexel offense out of sync in the 2nd half, shooting just 10-26. But CSU has been terrible, as they're clearly tiring out from the back to back games. Drexel lead continues to hold steady at 67-52 at the U4 timeout.

RE: Coppin State
Big 69-54 win over Coppin State in the home opener for their 3rd straight win. Vegas had the Dragons at a 14.5 favorite and they nailed the spread on this one.

I wasn't happy with Drexel offense in the 2nd half. They were just 11-30, missed a lot of open looks, and didn't have much flow to the offense. But Coppin was much worse. They shot just 25% in the 2nd half and seemed to be playing throw it up and hope it goes in.

Anyway, it was a nice solid win. Once they took control late in the first half, the result never seemed to be in doubt.

Now it's finals week, and then LaSalle at the DAC on Saturday afternoon.

First time in forever we had subs checking in in front of the table. A good 5 feet from table to court.

Got used to the mask and face shield fairly quickly with no fogging.

Distancing worked well with how we were placed.

I'm with JB that the offense didn't look good in the second half. On the flip side the defense has been excellent over the past three games after a shaky start playing mostly zone against Pitt. Hopefully that will continue as the level of the competition increases a bit.

I missed this one completely, but was pleased to see we won convincingly over a team we should beat. Beating teams you should beat consistently is a nice step so far this season.
