Apparently, the Tribe Prez recently received a $75,000 bonus.
Great optics, huge salary, house provided, gets a $75K bonus while the school cries poor (recently cut sports).

This kind of crap hits a cord with me... I know of a regional company that laid off 140 people several months ago. At the time, the C Suite curbed all bonuses and reversed the to date bonus accrual (June 30 Year End) for all employees (sorry about the accrual comment, I am a CPA).

Months later, only the officers are secretly getting a bonus and on top of that, the officers are lobbying to open the closed year ended June 30 so the C Suite can bury the bonus in a year that is considered a throw away because of Covid19.

Do as I say, not as I do...

What W&M does is not my business, if I were a Tribe donor scraping to support my alma mater I'd want blood.

Just finished a project with a company. 3 execs were patting themselves on the backs because they decided to go "unpaid" for Apr, May and Jun. At the same time they furloughed about 1/3 of the workforce and the remaining 2/3 took 15-25% pay cuts. Good for them, cutting their $300K+ salaries down to $0 for three months to save as many workers as they could!

Well, yeah, except they actually just deferred their compensation and received all three months of missed pay in Nov and they have no plans to back pay any of the employees that took the cuts. There are probably 2 folks in finance who know/understand what happened and the rest of the employees probably think their bosses are the nicest people ever.

I believe those that are paid the most in the good times should be paid the least in the bad times.
