I still have to read the article but it’s about FBS in general separating from NCAA, not P5?

I hope CC lays the hammer on BYU. Maybe that’ll get the blood flowing for them... if not, nothing will

Yes its about separating football from the other sports. Not P5 vs G5 vs FCS

Yall really believe if they separate that the G5 wouldn't be left behind? This would put even more separation between us and the P5 conferences. The P5 would have total control.

Not gonna happen. P5 needs G5 for home games, to get bowl eligible, etc.

In the new set-up, new rules would be made for bowl eligibility. Might be coaches poll ie popularity poll.

Many G5 schools would be forced to drop down. The money gap would grow even larger between the P5 and G5. Even said in the article that the P5 considered creating 3 separate division.

I don’t even care as long as AAC and MWC stay with us and maybe some of these fake P5 schools like TCU, BYU, and Houston will get left behind. We would have our own Top25 and most likely still schedule non-conference games vs P5 schools.

I'm not sure I see it that way. All that appears to be happening if this passes is football schools get greater autonomy to govern themselves and set their own rules.

While Nick Saban would love to make the P5 only leagues a thing, unfortunately most P5 schools rely on G5 schools for income, and as the article noted, the gap between the G5 and P5 is smaller than that of FCS to G5.

BYU and Houston are not P5 schools. BYU probably should be.

There shouldn't be so many schools playing D1 hoops . . . it is a huge buy a home win scheme. So much oversupply makes it cheap to buy.

This is the way I tend to lean. You always need some jobbers to put the faces and heels over, and Arkansas, Illinois, Boston College etc. don't want that role.

Anne Richardson is the only reason Houston isn't P5. You forget they were in the SWC.

That's not what the article says. It said the Knight Commission voted in a non-binding vote to separate FBS football from the NCAA so that would include G5 schools.

The real risk to G5 is the rules change in such a way that it is even harder to compete financially.
