A pair of JMU 2021 softball recruits from this CA team. Isabella Fishman in particular was highly recruited on the national scene, and plays SS and pitches. She’s a definite possibility to replace Jubas at SS her freshman year.

It appeared the 8 incoming 2021 softball recruits have a bit more height than usual. 5’7” and above.

I wonder if the long-delayed permanent additional seating to the softball complex will now be installed. It was promised after the LSU Super Regional 5 years ago.

I posted something about this earlier and checked the schedule. JMU night at the park is July 17. Can someone with more contacts than me make sure the school is in communication with the nats to get CC to throw the first pitch and that the entire team gets to join her on the field when she does (assuming there are no ncaa rules about that)? That would be fantastic!

LaPorte and staff were recognized as the top coach and staff in the NE region by the national softball association. Rather a no-brainer I would think, but well deserved.

Wasn’t it’s Gordon’s HR that beat OU? And a hit that beat OSU? And her lead-off HR against OU in the last game? She also made a great diving catch in the OF.

Jubas had a tremendous series with two big 3 run HRs, and we loved her enthusiasm as she rounded the bases, but those HRs ultimately weren’t as impactful on the outcome of games as Gordon’s HRs, plus Jubas may have faced stiffer competition at SS with another player who did something more determinative.

Gordon was 4-13 w/ 3 HRs and 3 RBI .
Jubas was 4-14 w/ 2 HRs and 6 RBI. She did have 2 errors though

It appears they gave 2 token slots to each of the 3 other final 4 teams and the rest of the slots to OU. So it was a toss up between Jubas and Gordon.

It will be interesting to see the final Softball rankings.

Best Case & probably appropriate final ranking is #3, but not sure if that would happen. Will the rank a 3rd seed #3, or just say top 10 team with Cinderella ride?

Couple major polls should be released shortly.

I know some will say it does not matter, but #3 would be something special to have forever.

Gotta think we'll be 3 or 4. Considering the way we looked vs OU, Bama vs FSU, and FSU vs OU I think it's a little tough to put us at 4 instead of 3 but I guess we'll see.

I second all the kudos and wonderful things that have been said about the team and their wonderful World Series run. It has been so much fun watching these women, whether it was online, from the High Street Hill or on ESPN in all its variations. I will miss the seniors tremendously not only for their expertise but for their wonderful character and they way they have represented themselves and JMU all year. I hope they enjoy these wonderful memories even more than we do as fans.
