I would agree with her shot selection in Game 1, but last game she took some poor shots. I think she was letting the missed shots get to her and really wanted to start getting shots to fall. One of her shots was an airball if I recall.

She's been playing solid defense, but so far has been a liability on offense. Hopefully her shots will start falling, because if they don't I see her playing time getting less and less.
There are too many good players on the team. A lot of new and young talent, though.

Only airball I saw was from Eleanore, but I could have missed one from McDaniel.

RE: WBB Game 2 vs Buffalo
When Hazell takes the high school to college leap she will be scary good. If you watch her down the stretch yesterday, the effort was atrocious on the defensive end. Obviously extremely talented, within the likes of P Hall, Dawn, and Hislop as explosive guards we've had who can create their own shot.

IMO, all comes down to Kiki taking that next step as an alpha. Only two games into her Sophomore season, I think she will be fine. Need to use our size and athleticism as our advantage. Here is my rotation:

Tinsley
McDaniel (Will hit some 3's, solid rebounder, good defender)
Kiki
Morgan Smith
Rayne

Hazell (Most talented offensive player we have IMO)
Diouf
Ouderkirk
Carodine

Those would be the 9 most of my minutes go to.

You could be right. I thought she shot an airball 3 close to the top of the key either late in the first or in the 2nd quarter.

I do remember her shooting a really questionable two point shot at the baseline really early in the shot clock with a defender on her.

4010- you think no Green? I agree Tinsley and Hazell bring more to the table than she does, but I think she’ll still see minutes just off the bench instead of starting.

This team, if they keep developing, should be playing good ball in February-granted we’re still playing ball in February.

I’d be pretty surprised if Madi doesn’t play major minutes this season.

I like Madi, but she doesn't really excel in a particular area. She's not a floor general, a great ball handler, dominant defender, shooter or scorer. But she is good enough to spell at a couple of positions and shoots free throws well. I could see her getting valuable minutes, but her time declining during the 2nd half of the season.

I wish she could be a floor general and run the offense. We are a team w/ a lot of combo guards but no true PG.

Just to clarify, I only mean major as in large quantity. I recognize your distinction of valuable minutes. Will be interesting to see how it turns out!

I think this is where you might see Tinsley rise to the top. Tinsley and Hazell in the backcourt makes you more versatile and gives you a creator. Personally think it’s going to be needed if KiKi is going to have the year we need her to have. Morgan Smith is a big wildcard IMO, I’ve heard her compared to a Kisha Stokes type and is a solid athlete. I also see Madi fitting more into a specialist role to spell multiple positions.
