Richmond takes down #10 Kentucky 76-64 in Lexington. We originally were going to play Richmond I believe in Cincinnati this year.

Do you think the A10 ends up being a higher rated conference than the AAC this year? Idk what it is but this league can't get out of its own way - every team seems to blow their biggest noncon games.. hopefully uc can make up for it with x/tenn/uga

Houston beating #14 Texas Tech by18 at half. Would be a great win for the AAC.

I think it will be Houston and everyone else in the American this year. They are building a very consistent program down there.

Yeah looks like houston is doing their part to save the league. Hoping uc can be back to that level in a few years. I think right now uc will finish top 3, but I still think we're a step behind uh

Jarreau didn't bite anyone but he lost his composure in this game again. They will be the class of the conference; they don't however have great point guard play so hopefully our speed and depth in wing players allows us to stay in games with them.

Looks like it’s going to be up to Houston and UC again to win games OOC, not one else in this conference can.

I'll throw Hepblade a bone here. Granted, one is against "Taccoa Falls" who i have never heard of, and the Georgia Tech game was 4 ot's and 4 guys on the team went for 20 plus. Nice win there i believe against in state big school. Good kid, i hope he continues to thrive. 4/5 from the line, oh boy!

Taccoa Falls is where the real-life "Band of Brothers" did their training in WWII... ("We're going to go run Taccoa!")

For a feel good story....Prince Toyambi played his 1st college game over the weekend. Came a long way since heart surgery. Grabbed 11 boards and scored 9 points in 16 minutes of playing time.

Then followed that up with 11 points and 3 boards on Sunday...so he is averaging double figures, though admittedly against glorified high schools. I just hope we continue to see positive stories from him, as there was clearly a health related reason why he wasn't cleared here.

Agreed. The American has exceeded my expectations for football; but has been a major disappointment in hoops. I'm glad Houston is carrying the banner so far. And I really like all the pieces that Brannen has added and my hope is that this team could prove to be more successful than last year's if it all comes together.

I keep watching Memphis and actually hoping they'll rise to their potential to help the conference. I'm not holding my breath on that. WSU has imploded in the short term. Temple hangs around but rarely demonstrates anything special. Ditto for SMU. UCONN wasn't setting the world on fire in the American either but the brand will be missed. After that, it's mostly a collection of schools where basketball remains an afterthought.

Don’t hold your breath is right with that guy on the bench. Penny is such a dreadful coach. We all said it would be the case coming straight from Team Penny AAU but it’s actually stunning how consistently unprepared, undisciplined, and how poorly coached that team looks.
