He's played 11 games in the CFL and has 4 return touchdowns (and a rushing touchdown as well).

I wonder if an NFL team will give him a call at some point?

Unfortunately the NFL doesn't really use return specialists like they used to, and there are very few kick off returns. I do believe he could play in the NFL as a punt returner. Let's hope he gets a chance. He isn't making a lot of money in Canada. I believe that the salary cap for the entire roster and coaching staff is $1.2 million with the highest paid players making around $75k.

Yeah, he’d probably have to prove on punt coverage, too, to get a shot in the NFL. Or, maybe as a slot WR on a practice squad.

There's a few, like Jamaal Agnew on the Jaguars or Diontae Spencer on the Broncos (who actually came from the CFL) that pretty much are purely return guys, but you guys are right that it's still a long shot.

Yeah, I was watching that game, on and off, and it did seem that every time I tuned back in, the announcer was saying something along the lines of "a great play by Houston-Carson" or "another tackle for Houston-Carson".

Devonte Desmond wins the CFL’s “World Class Player if the Year” award. From my Googling I’m pretty sure this is their equivalent to the MVP award.

That is incredibly impressive on so many fronts. A Williamsburg kid and W&M grad. A return specialist. In his second professional season.

His career trajectory is amazing.
