The New Mexico Bowl will be played in Frisco this year.

No, the Frisco Bowl will be played on December 19. It's just that the NM Bowl will be played in the same stadium five days later.

Really not unusual, it's no different than say in Tampa, where the Gasparilla Bowl and the Outback Bowl are both played in RJ Stadium, or Orlando, where the Cheez-It Bowl and Citrus Bowl are both played in Camping World Stadium, etc.

The two things that are weird about this is (a) the Frisco Bowl will be played on the same day that not only some CCGs will be played, but also some 'regular season' games, and (b) playing a "New Mexico" bowl in Texas.

No, the Frisco Bowl will be played on December 19 (while some teams are still playing regular season games, LOL). It's just that the NM Bowl will be played in the same stadium five days later.

Or the two bowls in Montgomery.

Frisco is literally the sixth option for stadiums in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area:

1. Jerry World
2. Cotton Bowl
3. Amon Carter/TCU
4. Gerald Ford/SMU
5. Apogee/North Texas
6. Toyota Stadium/Frisco

Frisco and the local hotels took a loss over Dallas and Fair Park to again use the Cotton Bowl.
