RE: hoops ticket request
So JMU can figure this out....but cannot be bothered to figure out an in person December Graduation with limited attendance and multiple timeslots.

It is sad to see where the priority is.

I guess your suggestion would be to space the 900 or so grads out around the arena and have no family attend? Not much of a graduation, but I supposed better than inviting everybody back for a event in a year. I'm sure there is more to it than both of us have offered here.

Not quite.

Separate it out by various 2-3 hour sessions as appropriate to facilitate an in person graduation of 900 or so persons and allow 2 persons per grad. and livestream. Could easily have 4 sessions at a minimum in a day.

If they do not even want to work thru the logistics on a small scale for december graduation go ahead and kiss a spring graduaton good-bye. My point is if JMU can go thru the exercise to figure out in person bball and seating logistics.........it seems like priorities are sorta out of whack is my point.

Evidently there is more to is than JMU can handle.....

There's also the whole bringing large groups of people in to Harrisonburg from other parts of the state and country during an unchecked global pandemic... but what does JMU know?

The above post identifies you as a very likely whiny fbs at all cost savage that would complain about anything JMU athletics does...or does not do.

Well based on JMU being the only VA state school that had to shut it down and send folks home for a month or so.......I would say JMU knows very little. Are you seriously going with JMU has a great grasp of what they are doing based on recent history.

Also, University of Tenn seems to be able to have graduation on campus in the basketball arena using multiple sessions/days with limited in person attendance from this past spring/summer.

Oh and it is OK to bring large groups together (1000 per guidelines) to watch a basketball game but not for a graduation.....got it.

I mean, the form says "You will be notified via email on November 17 if your order(s) have been filled and how to complete your payment for your tickets". I'm sure they got your request.

RE: hoops ticket request
well, that was short lived. no public allowed at JMU games.

On Friday, November 13, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced updated statewide measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. These measures include reducing the number of attendees at a sporting event from 1,000 to 250. In a change from the prior number, all participants in the event, as well as ALL essential working staff (such as officials, game operations personnel and other departmental employees), must now be counted among the 250 attendees.

Based on these updated guidelines and due to health and safety concerns related to the pandemic, attendance at home basketball games will be limited to guests of the JMU Basketball Programs. Ticket sales for fans and JMU students will not be available.

While fans will not be able to attend games at the Atlantic Union Bank Center, they can still watch all home games on FloSports or listen on the JMU Glo Fiber Broadcast Network.
