RE: ECU next up
Any idea what the ecu coach was saying to fick after the game? I didn't see a handshake so I'm guessing it wasn't friendly

That was pretty low energy.

I got no problem with the backups running the full offense and scoring. Or the seldom used senior RB getting a TD, but IMO that fake punt was an Urban Meyer-esque dick move being up 42-10. UNLESS, ECU did something (this game or last year) that really pissed off CLF.

The ECU coach better understand who Fick is. Not a man I would want to mess with. Legit wrestler and we all know he is a legit bad ass in general :)

Did anyone else see Freeman come over and Fick kind of brushed him away as if he was saying, I got this?

It was an audible by the players who saw something.

To be fair, we don’t know if that was a called play. Some teams give certain players on Special Teams the ability to audible if they see a specific alignment. Maybe that’s what happened. Regardless it shouldn’t matter.

If anyone wants to complain, maybe it shouldn’t be the coach who had multiple players ejected for headhunting.

It's a game, and we don't stop until the clock stops! If ECU has a problem with that they can go back to CUSA

Exactly!!! There were several other plays I saw that ECU players were leading with their helmets that weren't called for targeting. How many ECU guys were lost to injury? We scored points against a shiit team and the coach is pissed like a school girl that got rejected at the Sadie Hawkins dance.

Exactly. My guess was Dublanko audibled, but it could have been another player. It’s common for certain players to have that option if the opposing team gives specific looks.

It doesn't matter, we have to win big to keep our playoff hopes alive and that is what we did.

Just my two cents but Dublanko is the guy that has earned the trust to audible right there.

To also be fair, if you want to place the blame on the players (and not the coaches) for calling a fake punt, then you should also place the blame on the players (and not the coaches) for the headhunting.

I agree in the end it doesn’t matter. Just think it’s worth noting, especially for our own fans that are wondering why Fick would do that.

I’m not placing the blame, as I don’t think it’s a situation that requires blame.

I may be wrong, but to me it seemed like one coach was the one upset and complaining and it wasn’t Fick. It was also the same coach who’s team has multiple targeting calls against them.

If you think calling an audible for a fake punt, on Senior night, is equivalent to multiple intentional headshots, then I guess we will agree to disagree. One is within the rules, the other isn’t.
