That rule isn't in the 2021-2022 rulebook. But the new concussion protocol re-entry rule is.

A player suspected of having a concussion must be removed from a game. But if the player passes the protocols, he can reenter the game in the same lineup spot. The player who replaced the injured player can only come back in the same lineup spot as the player they originally replaced.

MLB is using the extra innings rule and 7-inning doubleheaders again in 2021.

I am not a baseball guy but it has been by far our most competitive sport for decades. Unfortunately our baseball facilities are an embarrassment. Not sure how and when that will change, especially with the additional covid issues that have added to the budget problems but I hope at some point someone steps up and writes a big check because that’s most likely the only chance for an upgrade.
