All right, lay it in on us, ‘79! Is this guy any good? And do we have a chance? I think SF is exactly what we need!

What we need is a SF that's proven ie juco or transfer. Maybe a guy like this one from New Hampshire with one year remaining:

Just a note pending signing day in April and one or two transfers out that NIU is done. They signed two in the fall but the class looks to be 6 to 7 players with a heavy sprinkling of JUCOs. More details on their board.

Offer to a 6'7 guard. Has already been at 3 schools in 3 years.

https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Des...ary/131074

He played 33 games at NWF 12.2 points 9 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He was Div 2 JUCO player of the year at South Suburban. I believe Matt Cline was a coach at NWF
and Noah Morgan was from that JUCO? According to this he is a top 10 JUCO. Has over 15 offers. The number 1 on the list is a player Murphy offered as a true frosh and I think he had one another D1 offer.

https://www.jucorecruiting.com/junior-co...gs-top-100

We have offered numbers 12 and 17 and maybe have some interest in number 31.

Once Monty is out the door, Miggy probably will be too.

I’m sticking with EMU.

I’ve recommended a HS player I work with to the EMU coaching staff. Waiting to hear if offer will be made.

He’s a 6’6” guard/small forward and last night I went to watch him play in a County v. County All-Star game. He scored 22-points 18 minutes, made tHe winning basket, and was named MVP.

Prior to the game, I struck up a conversation with a 6’1’ PG who was going to play in the game. He told me he averaged 15 ppg at a small HS and shot 55 percent on all fga’s (exceedingly high for a HS player, and 42.5 percent on three’s. Also very impressive.

I watched him in pre-game warm-ups. Offensively, he reminded me of Noah as he has a slight build and hops driving to the hoop. He swished all his jumpers. He has almost a perfect shooting form.

In the game, he scored 13-points in 16 minutes, shooting 5-5 on jumpers, including 3-made three’s.

After the game, he told me he was a B plus student and he had not taken the SAT because the colleges he applied to don’t require it. I suggested he do so and he said he would.

We exchanged cell numbers as I want to mentor him and find a scholarship who will offer him a scholarship. Believe he has a huge upside. He hasn’t been scouted nor received offers because he’s from a small HS. There’s no videos on the internet of his playing bb.

I have a player too that is no longer a secret. Warren Delasalles Mike Sakalak is a 6 ft 8 inch junior who I believe has a lot of upside. I think he could be a nice small forward for a MAC school. Saw him play today in the class A semifinals at Breslin. He is a guy to keep an eye on

Interesting stats. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...lian-lewis

Most obvious is that he is a good FT shooter, and gets a good number of rebounds for a SG.

BUT only okay as a frosh 3-point shooter and his FG percentage is pretty weak.

Why? NO idea. Haven't seen him play.

Can next season get his 3-ball percentage to say 33% and his FG percentage to 40%+?

He is one player whom I'd like to see tape on and figure our HIS game and W&M's game.

BTW, sometimes need to be very, very careful evaluating players. NBA scouts are higher on Purdue's Ivey, who was 'misused' at Purdue, then the times I saw him. Ivey is super quick and would be ideal in a real transition game. Purdue has a 7 ' 4" center who is not built for the transition game. Purdue is a pound it inside team. Ivey will probably be a better pro than college player even though he played for an excellent coach. Took one for the team.

Steve,

I’m with you on this Ivey guy . He’s very athletic but the times I saw him, his outside shooting was average. I’m sure he’ll be a nice role player in the NBA

I think Ivey will be a run and gun PG. More of a scorer than shooter.

All-rookie CAA selection. Seems like a tremendous young man. Mom is an EMU alum. Both mom and dad into education as an occupation. Brother plays at Wayne State.

https://verbalcommits.com/players/quinn-blair

I'd go after him as a one-season grad transfer. Originally from Dearborn Divine Child. Was recruited by EMU previously.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...uinn-blair

IF Lewis and Blair are interested, these are two quality players from local schools. And W&M is a very, very good academic school. Not far from being an Ivy.

We’re not interested in high school players that average 12 points pg
