CAA Spring Schedule Outlined - 6 conference games + 2 OOC
The only thing I find odd is announcing the decision now. There is no pressure to announce now and the landscape can change so much for better or worse by the spring. I wonder if it's more about an internal audit of current athletes interest in competing compared to how competitive the resulting roster would be.

Ohhhhhhh I was wondering why the press release was kinda weirdly worded. It makes a lot more sense if their AD/Ambrose is selling the extra year of eligibility to everyone.

I also thought the timing was weird. But, yeah.. glass half-full side of me wonders if this is so that athletes can properly plan, etc. Allows them to condition with the assumption they won't play until fall, transfer if they want, transfer IN from elsewhere if they don't want to play in the spring and then the fall, etc.

Towson could also just be trying to not incur the testing costs when they think they won't be able to sell tickets.

Since The Citadel elected to have a four-game fall schedule, the Bulldogs were not granted a waiver for a 12-game season, per sources with direct knowledge.

With Towson opting out, the league went with 4 southern teams that all play each other twice, and 7 northern teams that all play each other once.

So our schedule is Home and Away vs Richmond, JMU, and Elon.

I guess this was probably the most logical way to do it, though you could've also moved Delaware/Nova to the South

Love that we play UR twice!
Love that we play JMU twice!
Hate that we play Elon at all ever!

CAA Spring Schedule Outlined - 6 conference games + 2 OOC
This leaves us, at most, 6 weeks to play OOC games before heading into league play. I doubt we'll start on 01/23 and we'll want an OFF on 2/27, so maybe 4 OOC match-ups?

Will the few OOC be local? ODU, NSU, VMI, Hampton?

I think we're limited to playing 2 OOC matchups.

I could see local games making sense, but I wouldn't be surprised if we try to get like Nova and Delaware or some northern CAA teams

Only allowed to schedule two OOC. I'm sure that's being worked on. Hope we see a money game, and if not possible two home games.

Just saw camp is starting in early February so looks like we'll play 8 consecutive weeks.

Tribe could have won a national title but for the Cook injury against VMI.

Sitting in the visitor's section in September guarantees a sunburn.

VMI has lots more problems than their football schedule which, given the state investigation and resignation of their long time president
due to racism, probably means no football in the spring.
