I doubt it’s made up this year. Only way would be if there were no further cancellations and both teams wanted to play in December. Yeah that ain’t happening

Arkansas State and Georgia Southern will be the first COVID resistant teams in college football at this rate.

Word is it isn't a big part of the team, but a specific position group again, that is different from the position group last week with only 1 player available.

Probably Dbacks and LBs

...and next week it will be a different position group. After the mono nonsense I don't believe a whole lot that comes out of the AD's office.

Same subject, but different sport. Given the rash of postponements we are seeing in football, does anybody have any info on what the SBC is looking at for a conference basketball schedule model? Doesn’t seem that trying to set up a business as usual type conference schedule will work given the postponements of some conference games that are sure to occur.

Being able to make up postponed games looms as a huge consideration in basketball given that the SBC will almost certainly have just one spot in the NCAA Tourney.

The latest word from the conference is they intend to stick with the 18 game schedule and travel partners for basketball... Though that can change.

Wishing and hoping that things were different than they are ain’t gonna make it so. Better to have some kind of game plan to address the issue on the front end.

We only had a couple of positives the week of the Campbell game.

The lion's share were held out for contact tracing. That's where you really get hit.

Unless you're a failure at managing your team and you go from 11 cases early in the week to 22 48 hours before the game like FAU did this week....and then miraculously had zero positives today before USF postponed their game. The cure for the disease must live in Boca Raton. Maybe it's in that turnover backpack that Taggart brought with him.

How do you figure that? Did I miss the news about a major outbreak in our team?

Sorry to heat about ArkSt Covid issues. Hope they get well soon.

OT: FAU is a joke. They canceled with 24hrs before the game and then have 0 cases on Monday.

Technically, 29 hours and some change. I was working with the ESPN crew setting up when we got the call.

Did they honestly claim to have zero cases that following Monday?

Maybe its a rumor, but I swear I read that the tests ran on Monday showed all negative results or 0 active cases. I would assume a good number would still need to be in quarantine regardless of infection status. But it the went from around 20 positive cases to 0 in 3 days if that's true.

this year is a complete cluster and we'll be lucky to play half the scheduled games.

RE: More Positives at AState. Tulsa game postponed
This is all so f***ed sideways.

So many people just trying to wish a normal season into existence. That's not how viruses and transmission works.

It's one thing for baseball, when you can play multiple games in a day and keep players pretty distant during practice, play and downtime (at least as far as team sports go). But it was just never feasible to think that anything other than blind luck would prevent dozens of games - games which can't be shoehorned back into the schedule thanks to the physical demands of football - from being lost this fall.

I get that people want football. I want football. I just don't see who is being best served if things keep up like this and we end up with a bunch of 6-0 or 7-0 teams playing for conference titles and that the only real postseason storyline will be which NC game participant has the fewest positive tests in the run-up to the game.

It could also be “what they’re reporting”... because that’s varied among teams/conferences too. Some give a “no cases” as in total current/cumulative, some give a “no new cases” as in anyone not already out. So much has been veiled, behind competitive advantage...
