Sure to be another epic battle like the 5 hour slugfest the last time these 2 teams met.

Trolling with that #12 in the title. Whatever...
Good Luck!
The AAC is better when UCF and South Florida are both proven winners.

Prediction 35-7 Notre Dame. Not trolling, just an honest assessment of where the teams are.

Umm... did you watch ours? We had 102 total yards passing and, save 2 long runs, 220 yards rushing against what should have been a severely overmanned Citadel defense. Now we're going up against a much more stout Irish defense in our first road game under a new head coach. 35-7 in a game with a 20+ Vegas line is hardly trolling...
Look, like an X-Files fan, I want to believe. But I learned long ago to underexpect and be surprised. I expect us to get beaten like a red-headed stepchild today.

It was just announced that ND has a bunch of guys (8 of them) out for today's game against South Florida.
Two are Covid related, the rest are a variety of injuries.
That is two starting DB's, two starting linebackers, a starting slot receiver and some backups.
Besides the eight listed, starting WR Ben Skowronek is out with a hamstring injury.

A few halftime stats...
Total Yardage ND 279, USF 65
First Downs ND 15, USF 1
Third Down Efficiency ND 7/8, USF 0/6
Warm up the bus
Seriously, though, nobody can really blame Jeff Scott. A cook is only as good as his ingredients, and Charlie Strong left the cupboard bare. At this point, just get the guys reps and hope (which might be a heavier lift than it should be) you can stay healthy and beat an FAU team without their starting QB, won't have played a game yet and has two coaches (Leavitt and Taggart) who don't exactly instill discipline in their players...

You know what? We're down 45-0, drove the ball from our own 10 to their 19 yard line, and rather than kick a meaningless FG to avoid the shutout, we went for it on 4th down. In other words, we didn't go for the vanity points Charlie Strong and Skip Holtz were famous for. While I won't look back fondly on this game, I'm more sold on Jeff Scott as a coach than I ever was for doing the right thing here.

The green UConn...I kid.
Unfortunate. I thought USF would lose, but put up a decent fight.
