2020-21 ACC/Big Ten Challenge?
Who knows if it will be played and if it will be played will it be the usual format of home/away games or played in a bubble (and if so where?)

But let's have some fun and figure out who should play if there is a challenge.

https://www.btpowerhouse.com/2020/9/18/2...e-matchups

Illinois at Duke
North Carolina at Iowa
Michigan State at Virginia
Louisville at Wisconsin
Indiana at Florida State
Syracuse at Rutgers
NC State at Ohio State
Georgia Tech at Michigan
Maryland at Miami
Purdue at Clemson
Penn State at Notre Dame
Minnesota at Virginia Tech
Pittsburgh at Nebraska
Boston College at Northwestern
Wake Forest is out

Do you like your opponent? Do you hate them? Remember the better your opponent the more respect I have for your team.

The actual matchups:

https://bigten.org/news/2020/10/30/mens-...lenge.aspx

I predicted Illinois at Duke, North Carolina at Iowa, Michigan State at Virginia, Louisville at Wisconsin, Indiana at Florida State, and Syracuse at Rutgers correctly. Those are the ones that really count, does anyone really care who Nebraska plays?

We got a preview of the ACC/B1G yesterday when Michigan State beat Duke at Cameron. There were no fans there but it's still a pretty good accomplishment. North Carolina probably isn't as bad as they were last year but they only beat Pathetic 12 Stanford by 4 points. If that's any indication, Luka Garza and Iowa will beat them by at least 20 points in Iowa City. It looks to be the Big Ten's year but Illinois barely beat Ohio and ACC bottom feeder Virginia Tech beat Villanova.

Syracuse at Rutgers

RU and Sarah Cuse hate each other. This game should be a good early season test of just how good RU actually is. The three NCGs were really no challenge. We have a nine day layoff prior to the game. That should be plenty of time for Geo Baker to get back from the ankle injury he suffered in our first game.

Too bad it looks like the game with Seton Hall won't happen. That is our only real rivalry game we had left.

I'd much rather go up against the BE and play G-Town, Nova or UConn.

They have that. it's called the Gavitt Games. They just aren't having it this season.

I'd rather play the BE every year or alternate with a conference other than the ACC.

I like the games against the ACC. I think the Big Ten has much more in common with them than the Big East, though I don't want to stop playing them either.

Big Ten just spanking 'em tonight. The only blemish was a Purdue loss vs Miami.

This is the effect of more money. The ACC has tried to catch up to everyone else in football and has made some strides overall but their basketball has slipped. The Big Ten can keep doing well in football while keeping the pace in basketball; it's not an either-or situation for Big Ten schools. The SEC is catching up in basketball too and the Big 12 is always good. Some will likely say it's cyclical but I disagree.

The Big Ten has played the Big East from 2015-2019 and is contracted for 2021 and 2022. We can do both.

Adding UConn does help the Big East and of course I love Villanova but we're talking the ACC here (Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse). Teams leave the Big East for the ACC, not the other way around. I'd rather Villanova be in the ACC than the Big East.

It is the money gap in part. The Big 10 earned about 25 million more per school in media payouts last year. F.S.U. in part is on hard times debt wise by trying to spend in the red enough to keep up with Florida. I'd say the future of the ACC is slowly slipping. How much so? Tonight they are pinning their hopes on Clemson to pick up a hoops win. I'll let you guys grin and ponder that one.

RE: 2020-21 ACC/Big Ten Challenge?
The ACC made a comeback tonight. Still, the Big Ten ended up winning the challenge, 6-5.

Sorry for those teams who couldn't play this challenge.
