If they do, they will bring great shame upon the state of Texas. LA Tech has almost 40 active cases and they haven't thrown in the towel.

The athletic dept at Rice wants to play football but they are run by an imcompetent President and administration.

If that's the case then the head coach should have said "No comment". Instead of backing up the incompetent President and administration

The streak of 106 straight years of Rice football is about to be broken.

Bloomgren is highly compensated and was last at Stanford. I don’t see him as a “rock the boat” kind of guy on this particular issue. Todd Graham was the last coach who tried to push back on the system.

I am interested in what Marshall fans are hearing. I saw the UH beat writer report out that the Bayou Bucket game is cancelled, although Rice says they are still working with Houston to reschedule.

C-USA office just announced that Rice's games against Marshall and UAB are postponed. Apparently Rice rescheduling UAB on Dec. 5 is an option if it impacts the west race. I'm going to guess the Rice @ Marshall game will not be played this year.

RE: Rice Owls
Rice should be required to forfeit games now that the season has started. If they were postponing due to a team/campus outbreak and/or a lack of personnel that's one thing, but to refuse to play for the reasons they have given are ludicrous.

UAB and Marshall should just play on 11/7 in Huntington and forget Rice totally. It would be a tougher game for both teams anyway.

So, if UAB only has 6 conference games and goes 5-1 and a team they beat goes 7-1 . . .

I think you take the 7-1 due to higher win percentage.

RE: Rice Owls
So as it stands, Marshall literally only has eight games played this year.

I 100% expect CUSA to bungle this.

Marshall and UAB only have six conference games.

What came of that idea to allow teams to play a game with in division twice? That's on the table too right?

So there's two wins if Marshall gets to play Charlotte...

Jokes aside, CUSA better be very careful how they handle this. if Marshall is able to beat App State this weekend, CUSA could have a ranked Marshall team.

RE: Rice Owls
If Rice ends up not playing at all, then UAB and UTSA each play one of Rice's cross-divisional rivals and everyone has seven conference games.

RE: Rice Owls
Is RICE the only FBS in Texas NOT playing? I do not comprehend their stance.........(shrugs). IMO ODU and Rice should not get any conference CFP money share. It should be divided by 12 not 14 this year only. Same for any small amount of TV money (some of us are trying to run football programs here).

I am sure that is what is gonna happen with ODU since we didn't even start the season per say and thus forfeiting the revenue from shared sources.

Rice is the CUSA office baby. They will get their money.

I have no confidence in our CUSA officials to stand up and have backbone.
