Will game get played?

There is absolutely no way to know the answer to your question. Tech tested for the third time of the week on Sunday and got the STUNNING results today. We will test again on Wednesday and should get those results Sat-Mon. Who knows what the results will be.

Every team in the country will have these same challenges every week, for every game and you will never know when a large number of "positive" results may pop up. Then add to that the "contact tracing" fallout due to who was near whom and when and you can see how the numbers can skyrocket within a span of a few days. It is absurd.

Did the La Tech players leave campus and go home before Hurricane Lara? I was thinking they got around some family members that could have it. I think any team that will have to leave campus to avoid a tropical system is bound to have problems.

Yes many parts of Ruston was without power for over a week.

And read where player families and others from Lake Charles area had came to Ruston before the storm hit to evacuate.

I think it's reasonable to expect a Southern Miss postponement. I don't like it, but think of the many factors.

Aside from the Covid stuff being what it is, you're potentially dealing with the distractions that come from storm cleanup.

The entire team will probably need to clear multiple waves of positive tests and quarantine.

It's possible the Marshall vs La Tech game could go on after a series of completely positive results. Probably not Southern Miss...But look at MLB. It took a while for the Marlins and Cardinals to get back at it.

The feeling that I am getting from sources is we should be good to go, but then again....you never know. I hope to be in Hattiesburg on September 19th!!

No news yet. We should know for certain around Thursday. Hopefully hurricane Sally doesn't knock out Hattiesburg and we repeat last week with USM's team.

I don't see how USM could possibly be favored unless Vegas thinks Tech will be without the services of quite a few players.
