Sorry, '79, I'm black crepe on recruiting this late on the '22 recruiting season.
We are probably looking at PWO-caliber recruits and that to me is meh.
There are at least two offers out there to a JUCO and a Transfer each of whom would be a nice addition to the O-Line. There are still some diamonds to be had....
Let me re-phrase my post.
There ARE still prospects in the transfer portal. They are, by definition, D-I prospects (if a player has played at the FBS D-I level it makes sense to call them at least MAC-level prospects which would suggest they could be of value to teams like EMU).
What I'm not in favor of is reaching for FCS-level or D-II prospects. Why? Playing FBS FB isn't like working at McDonalds where they need 'warm bodies.'
Usually a team doesn't need the Nth best DT. They want a DT who projects as a 2-deep DT (insert Scott's name here).
When teams go 15 - 20 deep say in the DL, another another player, unless he projects as a possible 2-deep seems like a folly to me. I do not feel better about going from say 15 --> 16 DLs unless the 16th DL can play, 2-deep or at least projects to special teams.

Good to hear. We lost Racely, Coleon and Eaton and likely need to bring in someone with experience for depth. We do have a very good starting unit coming back, but likely a little light after that for rotation.

Precisely...need some depth with experience. They have some younger guys coming up who are looking good for where they are in their development but need some ready "next-man-up" guys...particularly at the Center slot.

Unofficial 2022 Football Recruiting Thread
Scott is still on the roster. Could be that EMU has some housekeeping to do on the website? Or is there something else going on? Is it possible that he wasn't eligible to sign with another school because he had already signed with EMU?

It would be interesting to see how EMU would respond to such a conflict. Battle it out within the NCAA structure? Back off and let Scott go? Negotiate a settlement with Texas Tech to close out interest in him?

How about 100k of NIL money?
Once again, if he signed BOTH the application for financial aid AND the LOI on or before May 18, it would be tampering.
The NCAA will usually allow a player to avoid a sitout year if the player is moving home for good reason but he isn't going home. I don't think Scott could have found Lubbock on a map (without Google Maps months ago).

Let me rephrase mine. The coaches know their needs more than we do. PS I have consistently said we would likely sign an OL late.

If Scott changed his mind after signing a LOI he can sit out a year without playing and then move on.

This is juicy. I believe the roster was just updated with adding guys (no pictures available) and yet Scott is still on.

Yeah at DB I think he will be an impact player.

At city college of San Francisco he was an absolute game changer, I absolutely love the way he plays and hopefully his JUCO success can translate to this level. If it does he will be a first team all-mac selection. I am big on him this year.

Read an article where Minnesota fans were complaining about Fleck for taking low 3 star recruits (Vioto was specifically mentioned). If I can find it I’ll paste it.

Viotto wants the B10 glory so he'd better get used to criticism.

One of the players added was Carson Lee, he played at Colorado for the past 2 years and this spring chose to transfer. The reason I am pointing him out is that he should still currently be serving time in jail. Last October, he assaulted a man and was charged then and there. In May of this year, specifically the 19th, he entered a plea deal where he would serve 30 months on probation and 30 days in jail. This means he still has 2 more days to serve. However, he most likely was put on work or school release.

This seems out of character for Creighton to take this type of player.
