OT- Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) Dead at 43
Guy was a great actor. Played James Brown, Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshal. Battled Colon cancer for 4 years.
EDIT: And how could I forget that he played as a young Floyd Little in The Express

My son tells me he was able to finish Black Panther 2.
Supposedly, he was diagnosed in 2016 with stage 3 colon cancer. He was 39 years old.
They say you should start getting colonoscopies at age 50. This guy was diagnosed at age 39 with an advanced cancer. It likely was in his family background. So sad.

Mark,
Before his death, did you realize that he played in the Express? I didnt until my youngest son brought it to my attention. Funny how he made it big time and the kid that played Ernie Davis is still relatively unknown.

You know you are old when someone you never heard of is memorialized as a superstar. When I first saw the thread title, I wondered what sport he played.

Actually my ex wife worked for a Gastroenterologist for years. They recommended white folks start having a colonoscopy at 50. They recommended that black patients start having them at 40. If one of your parents has had colon cancer they recommend you start getting colonoscopies at 30, regardless of race.
I got my first one at 40 because it was free, a company benefit. I did ColonGuard last year and recommend anyone meeting the above criteria to not put it off. Colon cancer is one of the easiest cancers to defeat if it is caught early.
Cancer doesn’t care what you do, how old you are, what color you are, or how much money you have. It’s an equal opportunity killer.

I dont believe his name is a household name. In fact, I knew his name but could never remember it. His face was much more recognizable than his name because he had played the lead role in so many big time movies.

Teenagers and MCU fans knew him as the actor who played Black Panther. My son has a friend who can tell you every actor with a speaking part in any MCU or DCEU movie, I think! But for grown-ups who are not total nerds, maybe not (although I really thought that included everyone on this board...)

I've had several. The prep is the hard part. I get one every 5 years.

I didn't know that... I checked, he played Floyd Little who coincidentally is having a life n death struggle with cancer.
