Interesting read for sure.

Also, what caught my eye is the pandemic costing their athletic department a $19M deficit. Also, that UA, due the pandemic is trying to shed outrageous deals.

Under Armor is trying to do the same thing with their Cal contract too. Don't think it's going to end up working out too well for them as they have a flimsy argument at best.

Yes, UA was monumentally stupid.

They are desperately trying to use Covid to shed these awful deals. I doubt a judge will let them get away with it. They probably realize that and are really angling for a settlement that will cut some of their losses. That's their best case scenario.

Ironically, the PAC decision not to play football does give UA some ammunition, as the deal was surely predicated on UCLA actually playing sports and thus giving UA the exposure.
