From CNN: Lyon Gardiner Tyler, Jr., son of former W&M Prez Lyon Tyler Sr and grandson of US Prez John Tyler died today at age 95. To his credit, W&M Prez Tyler fathered Lyon Jr. at age 71.

To his discredit, he was the author of the Confederate Catechism.

Very interesting articles regarding the Bray School hiding in plain sight:
http://williamsburg.kspot.org/other/other178.htm

https://advancement.wm.edu/news/2021/wm-...ium=social
https://www.wm.edu/news/stories/2021/col...ildren.php

Full circle to athletics:
"the college's acquisition of the Digges House "insures its preservation for posterity" and that the college would use the house for faculty housing. A Flat Hat article said that "Pappy" Gooch, the college's first athletic director, had moved in."

Lots of black visitors take a picture of the Bray School sign in front of Brown dorm.
But there's no signage telling them to walk down the street to see the actual building.
Whenever I see folks taking a photo, I explain that the actual building still exists and they can see it just a half block away. They appreciate the info and we really should direct visitors to take the short walk from the Brown location to the Bray building.
