I don’t see High Point getting a better offer any time soon.

High Point is loaded. Their MBB budget is 130% above the Big South median (for frame of reference, Grand Canyon's is 128% above WAC median).

High Point wants to be what Davidson or Richmond is. They're not there academically or financially as of now. I could see them one day in the SoCon if things go sideways for the current SoCon. UNCG definitely doesn't want HP in their conference when they can play them every year in OOC.

High Point is Elon if Elon’s endowment was less than a third of its actual size and it didn’t have football, a CAA membership, a law school or top 100 ranking amongst national universities. High Point has discussed adding football, if they did maybe they’d get a look from the SoCon.

High Point is a more secular version of Liberty, with a president who is more about personality than academics.
