With no MAC, Big Ten, or PAC-12 games, I don't see how any games should be played on ESPN 3.
ESPN has to sell subscriptions to that platform. If they took every game off that platform, no one would subscribe.
If that was the case, Troy-ULM would have been on + and not 3. ESPN has to fill linear spots, plain and simple.

RE: Football TV schedule
I'm gonna whine a little here. Please excuse me.
It is frustrating that App State is in that space where it is viewed by P5 schools as too risky to schedule (the old "nothing to gain, everything to lose" argument), and not quite in the Boise State/UCF/Houston realm where a win is quality and a loss is bearable. As a result, App State could not get a replacement P5 game or even an AAC game, not even on the road. As a result, the league standard bearer (at least as of the past few years, who knows what the future holds) is shut out of an ESPN appearance. It seems like that would give the league the best chance to shine in front of a broad audience.
Again, I know I'm whining and jealous. Good luck to all the Sun Belt teams in non conference play. Make our league look good!

This is a strange year though. Half the P5's playing chose not to play OOC games period, the other half chose to play 1 game. With only 1 OOC game, it stands to reason that you aren't going to choose an opponent that you think will beat you.
In addition, a lot of this comes down to how well connected your AD is. We only managed to get 12 games ourselves because Mohajir has a lot connections built up with the AD's at Memphis, UCA, and Kansas State. Specifically with Kansas State, where we have no real playing history against in football.

Be sure to tag MJS, HiddenDragon and all the other doomsayers when the ratings come out. I’m sure they’ll be watching too. Like I said in March/April:
Just. Play. Football.
Unlike a lot of others, MJS has just taken a realistic outlook on this virus and has been amazed and shocked, as I have, of how bungled our response to it has been. As for ratings, sure us starved for sports fans will watch, and will hope things go well. But, remember the thing about ratings- Romans loved watching people die in their coliseum, and that would have been considered to have great ratings!
Hell, we could do that now and it would still get great ratings...
Have you ever seen the George Carlin standup on televising "public executions"?

RE: Football TV schedule
That CUSA TV deal that someone posted earlier in the thread is from last year. Our TV games were announced today. To be fair. It's still a smorgasbord. But not as bad as last year.
Our home games broke down like this:
CBS Sports- 19 games
Stadium- 15 games
Espn Family- 37 games
Espn is allowing themselves to not announce networks until 12 days from gametime. We appear to have dropped the Facebook games and CBS appears to have bought our NFL Network games.

Well that's an improvement but what happens next season?

Unsure. Probably back to our garbage deal. Hopefully without the social media exclusives.

I thought Stadium had a deal to provide X games to Facebook but might have been a one year thing.
Are the Stadium CUSA games paywalled or part of their free package. I wouldn’t subscribe for what little they have but they did a pretty decent job with the production of AState at UNLV and NMSU v New Mexico on Facebook once I figured out how to turn off the stupid floating hearts and thumbs up. Unfortunately no decent way to watch Facebook game on Roku so had to revert to laptop to tv.
Still haven’t figured out why Sinclair is a partner in Stadium but doesn’t run games in the Little Rock market. The predecessor channel was on the local Sinclair station. They picked up odd games tuned in one day expecting to see UNT and someone and instead was a D3 game out of Iowa. Entertaining but first time I’ve ever seen a college coach huddle up his guys and was taller than all the players.

To answer some questions: Yes there will still be ESPN3/ESPN Plus games. While it is obvious that networks need inventory all over place, ESPN simply put has to have games on those networks in order to be able to sell subscriptions. Not to mention that while League AD's are more open this year to moving games to midweek with most schools banning tailgating as it is and limited crowds, they will want to keep some games on Saturday to make Campus traffic easier.

C-USA Stadium games aren't paywalled. They're on "Over The Air" channels across the country and on streaming apps such as Stirr, Pluto TV, and their own Stadium app. They're also on Sling TV, Sony Vue, and Fubo TV streaming services.
Also, look for them to simulcast on some FOX RSNs as well. This past basketball season Stadium basketball telecasts were on some FOX RSNs.

4/6 of our home games on cable tv is incredible! Surely other Sun Belt schools’ updated schedules are soon to follow.
