Makes sense. You don't draft someone that high (Round 2, # 59 overall), even at a talent deficient position like Catcher, if you don't project him to be a power hitter at the next level.

He didn't really start hitting for much power with a wooden bat until the A+ level, where he hit 10 HR in 281 AB's at Fort Myers, so that's just good scouting to be able to see that.

Jeffers homers against the Indians tonight. His now hitting .289.

Another dinger for Jeffers. This one a two run shot. Definitely seems to be earning his keep!

Sadly, Garver is likely to be activated from DL this week. That will put a big dent in his playing time.

The good thing for him is that if that ends up being the case, he has surely made a strong argument to be worked into the lineup as often as possible or even used in a trade that could see him get more consistent playing time elsewhere.
