Biggest EMU Hoops Wins of the 21st Century
EMU Hoops has seen four men’s coaches since 2000.

Barnes
Boone
Ramsey
Murphy

What are some of the biggest wins we’ve seen in that time period?

I’ll share my thoughts later.

RE: Biggest EMU Hoops Wins of the 21st Century
1) Murphy/EMU 45 over Michigan 42 @ Chrysler Arena in 2014-15. (Gave EMU their second won over them, which is huge)

2) Barnes over Syracuse @ the carrier Dome (might not count since it was the 90s, but including since you listed the coach. And I think the Cuse was decent that year)

3) Ramsey/EMU 67 vs Cal 65 at home in 2005-06. (Bitter sweet for me really, but gave EMU a win over the greatest coach in college basketball history in Ben Braun)

4) Murphy/EMU 47 vs Purdue 44 at home in 2012-13. (Not just a Big Ten team, but a perennially decent program)

There were some decent mid-major wins under Murphy as well, but apparently I look up to the P5 too much...

The first ones that came to mind for me were the Cal, Michigan, and Purdue games you listed as well as the win over Buffalo in the in 2014 MAC tournament that sent us to the semi-finals. That semi-final game (a loss to Toledo) was a good game, kept it close against a good team.

I like the Buffalo win too.
I will also add the win over Kaman and CMU in 2003 where the Convo had over 5,000 people in attendance.

I'll go with the win over UM too. It was actually Eastern's third win over Michigan. The fact that this win caused UM to avoid scheduling EMU says a lot about how they do business.

I remember the Purdue game, that was a quality win.

Unfortunately, I think this kind of post and speculation about returning will be about all we’re going to have for the next 10 months.

RE: Biggest EMU Hoops Wins of the 21st Century
I’ve only been around since the last two seasons of Ramsey, so the Michigan and Purdue wins are obviously the biggest. But close behind those is Murphy’s win over Green Bay in 13/14, who nearly finished top 50 in RPI that season. I think that’s Murphy’s highest rated OOC win, if you go by end of the season rankings.

That 13/14 team could’ve been so good. Lost so many close games in conference play. Story of Murphy’s tenure.
