Absolutely, I despise all that BS on a freaking message board......this is all opinion.
But I felt it necessary to place that disclaimer or else the fact checking and request for links would ensue.04-cheers

If I were Lance and projected as a top five pick, there’s no way in the world I’d play a spring season. The upside is minuscule compared to the worst case scenario.

I’m not even sure I’d play a fall season but I guess they are so good that a couple of FCS warm ups are low risk.

I was thinking about this and why he would risk one game (possibly more if NDSU strings a few more together) but I think ultimately just being around football and practicing is a good enough reason. He has to do school if he stays at NDSU opposed to focusing fully on NFL prep but I'm sure they will work out a way for him to be full time and have a light schedule including pretty much all online classes.

I don’t have a link handy, but I did read in an industry newsletter that Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas are foregoing the possibility of the FCS playoffs and playing their “2020” season this fall, with no spring play. The driving forces are both revenue-generating games, and concern about playing two seasons in one calendar year. I don’t believe any other FCS schools are pulling out of a possible spring playoff.

UCA and EKU have the most complete schedules.

Here’s a list of all scheduled FCS games as of 8/24.

that make sense.

it's interesting UCA would do that. the report was they were getting $100k for the NDSU game.

then they have UAB, Arkansas State and Louisiana as FBS opponents. I can't imagine those schools are paying much.

other games are home and homes with EKU and Missouri State.

3 game series with two of those games at NDSU, so spread out maybe it’s $50k per home game? I’d like to see JMU structure more deals this way when we are playing lower level FCS teams.

You just had to point that one out. I'd submerged that deal into thinking it was a bad dream, now you managed to give me a good dose of reality.

Rocks, I agree and cannot imagine that schools like Lehigh wouldn't do those. We'd probably probably have to pay a little more than what NDSU is paying UCA, but not a significant amount.
