RE: Please Big 12 save college football this season
CFB won’t be played this season. The fall is the start of flu season. Flu symptoms (even if it’s really the flu) in the middle of a pandemic, not a good idea.
MLB players got infected. Same with the MLS. Unlike pro athletes, “student-athletes” don’t have unions and high salaries where they can afford top medical care (what’s the minimum wage for a MLB player, 500k?). You don’t want to be that school with multiple infections and God forbid, the first one with a death. The last thing a President, AD and coach want to deal with, it’s a situation like that. The lawsuits would ruin an entire athletic department.
I predict games will be played for a week or two and it’ll be cancelled.

Yes, it seems likely the SEC/ACC think they need to be seen to try to play the season before being forced to give it up by the entirely predictable result in the first couple of weeks.

That’s gonna be a week or two of more football then The Big Ten or PAC will play.
It’s almost as if Big Ten fans are rooting for Covid. Wow...

Carolina has had 8 or 9 football practices already per the ACC guidelines.
The ACC protocol had athletes report at staggered times over several weeks so that proper testing could be done.
I understand that every athlete (all fall sports) is tested at least 2 times per week.
BTW Carolina's school year was moved forward. Classes have already started and the first semester will be completed before Thanksgiving, with the second semester starting after the first of the year.

If I’m Mark Warren I’m on the phone with The ACC finding out what protocols they are using.

Or teams could play every other week if need be starting at the end of September and playing into the second week of December. That would give each team about 7 games to collect TV revenue on plus 25k fans in the stands to make some money. Then the schools could play in a holiday bowl to get to 8 games for a partial season with 2 week quarantines to check on potentially infected players.

Then the SEC could trade Missouri to the Big 12 for West Virginia.

As of now, the Big 12 is unanimously trying to move forward with a fall football season. TCU's Victor Boschini headed the President's committee that developed the protocols for player safety and was able to bring the other CEO's along for a 9/26 start to the conference season. Ex-TCU AD Chris del Conte (now at a rival school located in Austin) also played a big role. We'll see.

This is actually a serious question, what's happening with Clemson's tests currently?
