2020 Football Season
Per WBBM, the MAC has voted to not play football this year.

On Thursday, Lisa Freeman told the other schools that even if the MAC elected to play, NIU would not participate.

RE: 2020 Football Season
I feel it is the right decision. I wonder if they will be allowed to have organized practices or even if they want to have practices.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/b]

President Freeman exercised good judgment in protecting the health and saftey of her students.

Nice to see NIU in a leadership role.

So disappointed.... feel real bad for the players.

Didnt STF want to leave FBS and do spring fb before the Covid 19 hysteria?

RE: 2020 Football Season
If all the other conferences play football this fall I highly doubt the MAC plays football in the spring on its own. We won't play football again until Fall 2021.

Maybe if all the other conferences play the MAC can go to FCS and become relevant again. Unless there is a mass exodus, meaning ALL conferences don’t play this year, the division between the big boys, the middle boys, and the little boys will ruin NCAA football as we knew it.

The next four months, we will be talking about go and no go for spring football.

How smart do Heflin, Perez, Lorbeck, and Brinkman look right now?

Do the current players lose a year of eligibility? What about the seniors?

I never want to see any cute media clips about how Huskies never quit again.

By the end of August all of college football will be shut down until possible Spring season. This is just the beginning, the MAC is ahead of the curve of the inevitable.

Those guys will not have a season either, so net neutral with making their moves as far as playing goes.

Not until someone finds Monty’s extension via the FOIA.

Fancy that, someone with a St. Louis Cardinals emblem talking about shutdowns and others being ahead of the curve.

Because of the COVID postponement, I expect that Monty’s contract is being extended until 2025.

There's a difference in choosing to shut it down and being told to shut it down

Coincidentally he started beating his drum about safety and moving to the spring right after the Big Ten announced a conference only schedule. But it's only about safety right?
