NIU isn't in Chicago. Could fly out of Rockford or Quad Cities. If flying commercial, Northwestern can probably file out of Milwaukee. Its almost a close as O'hare. If flying private, they can play out of Waukegan.

Well when yo do the math they've already lost their money games due to most of the P5 going conference games only. So between 1/4 capacity, loss of concessions, liability risk due to the virus, cost of overhead and travel, without the money games they are probably looking at loosing money while playing. At least in the Spring the TV exposure might help them. Same situation out West.

Colorado State halted football activities. It's over racist abuse, but they have an underlying problem with covid-19 testing and player revolt. This halt may just be a prelude to a shutdown.

The MAC and the MWC are the two conferences most likely to pull the plug outright.

On the other hand, travel for the MAC is cheaper (very few if any planes) than any other FBS conference, there are many in state games, and the Midwest for the most part hasn't been hit as hard by COVID-19 over the summer as the South has.
