North American University fits that bill in the by-laws. They just happened to start up sports in recent years may have made NCAA to think that they are a school like College of Faith. When they are under the same accreditations as Apprentice and Apprentice is accountable? Then, someone in the NCAA's department made a mistake.

You make it very hard to believe you don't have rocks for brains. So now the NCAA and the NAIA are both wrong. You keep comparing them to Apprentice but the NCAA and the NAIA evaluates each school on a case-by-case basis. Two organizations has deemed them non-countable for the same reasons, your arguments just don't hold water. The way you carry on about this school would make someone think that you get some sort of kick back for all this rubbish "advertisement".

That is only one of three requirements. The second is being a varsity program. They also must satisfy one of the following:

1. Be an active, provisional, or reclassifying member of the NCAA
2. Be accredited by one of the six listed regional accrediting bodies which I won't type out but that neither Apprentice nor NAU have been accredited by
3. Meet some requirements you can only meet if your school is in Canada
4. Be an active or associate member of the NAIA
5. Be an active or associate member of the NCCAA

I, frankly, don't see how either NAU or Apprentice satisfies any of those requirements.

The NCAA made Apprentice countable in 1986, so maybe we can simply say that was then and this is now. I can't find anything about why this ruling was made.

According to Wikipedia (I know), at that time Apprentice was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges, which would make them countable. Of course, the rule could have been very different at that time, but perhaps they were grandfathered.

Strange they listed Lewis and Clark Valley as not countable when D3 gave them a waiver to be counted when there are a lack of football schools in the northwest. They just can't compete for post season games. Both NAIA and NCAA could make North American University as an associate without post season could work. They are trying to get SACs right now. Paul Quinn in NAIA do not have SACs, and NAU could slide into the Texas area schools for all sports and Sooner Athletics Conference for football. They are not a club team. Their goals is to join the NAIA, and they are doing everything right. We can't pick and choose schools right now on who can be accountable when schools are closing their doors permantly.
