RIP Lou Henson
Coach Lou Henson is the Godfather of NMSU basketball. He was a legend in the College basketball ranks and will be dearly missed.

RE: RIP Lou Henson
RIP - I was at Illinois when he was coaching there.

Did a great job righting the ship after McCarthy, as well in his post-retirement gig.

RE: RIP Lou Henson
Lou Henson was the greatest Aggie coach to ever pace the PAC courtside. He was a special coach, a legend, and a gentlemen. His passing leaves a hole in the Las Cruces community. He was loved by all. RIP Lou.

RE: RIP Lou Henson
One of his many achievements us Texans can understand and appreciate: Lou Henson was inducted into Hardin-Simmons' Athletics HOF in 1997. His successful turnaround of HSU's program (1962-1966) propelled him to NMSU in 1966 where he went on to reach the Final Four in 1970. RIP, Coach.

Good stuff. I knew he coached at Hardin-Simmons, I did not know he was inducted to their HOF. Thanks for sharing.

RE: RIP Lou Henson
Henson took NMSU to the Final Four, college basketball Hall of Fame. The greatest coach NMSU basketball has ever had. However, I humbly disagree with you he is the god father of NMSU basketball. I would say Jerry Hines is the god father of NMSU basketball, for NMSU athletics for that matter.
