RE: Spring Football
Or a combination of football/basketball season tickets. It could make the numbers look much better.

My wild guess would be if we did play in the Spring, it would come with no bowls and a playoff
Thing is, just to consider the option would take universal agreement of all 10 FBS conferences, and the cooperation of both the NCAA, and the NFL, who would have to postpone its draft until June most likely. Then it requires schools to still be able to financially support their athletic programs until that point. There'd be a lot of conflicts between football and basketball that could be really problematic.
You are right...a lot of moving parts. Probably be a huge mess. I have been to one BB game in two years so for me that conflict wouldn't be a problem.
Yeah, it has minimal effect on Sun Belt schools. But imagine a Duke or North Carolina when they have a football and basketball game at the same time. They'd have to be real creative in scheduling to avoid a situation where football gets the short end of the stick.
I think it has a big impact on Sun Belt schools. The ADs will do what they need to do to get a football season in any way they can get it, but it could be challenging for us to do. The spring schedule is already crowded with multiple sports overlapping and now you throw football into the mix. We broadcast all home football and men’s basketball games on ESPN+ already. We were also set to begin broadcasting all home baseball games on ESPN+ this year. In addition to those sports, schools like USA and others already broadcast women’s basketball and softball games as well. Moving football to the spring probably other sports are losing coverage because you just don’t have the personnel in place to cover all those sports at the same time.
