There are some D1 schools being hit hard by Covid-19 as well that could be in danger of shutting down.

Siena
High Point
Presbyterian
Bethune-Cookman
Mount St. Mary's
Bryant
St. Bonaventure

Those are some of the few. The schools in the northeast will be the ones hit hardest with the midwest schools next.

I live in High Point. The school has more money than they know what to do with. Nido Qubein has deep pockets and his donated millions back to HPU. Once again, you have no idea what you're talking about

Beat me to it. I was just about to say that High Point is exploding with growth.

Educators/politicians promised a better life if only everyone had an opportunity to get a college education.
Now we have a bunch of college educated people that can't find jobs in their fields (pushed there by a educator/guidance adviser).
Free college education will not solve the problem, it will only encourage more people to enroll and contribute to the frustration of unfulfilled promises.

Yeah but there are few jobs that can be done without a graduate level education in STEM. Trade schools would be priced appropriately if they can provide direct placement into jobs, but the lawyers, CPAs/CFAs, pharmacy and even general medicine is becoming rather redundant. You need extreme specialization. It's too bad that most people have a generalist mindset, and I think trades make a lot of sense for those people as opposed to 6-8 years of tacked on school work.

Exactly. They're still in the process of building a new basketball arena, which Qubein himself funded. Stopped by the campus this afternoon, and there are several other projects in construction besides the arena.

They were in a bajillion dollars of debt...I haven't seen any indication on the future of Bridgeport athletics, but it seems unlikely they will stick around much longer.

Bridgeport was to be the #1 seed in the D2 East Regional in men's basketball when the virus shut down the tournament; they also won the national championship in D2 women's soccer just a couple years back.

I posted in the thread that I started is that the city of Bridgeport bought their soccer field and the land adjacent to the school to build a new high school. Their athletics are toast.

The construction cost could be the reason why they are listed. Hawaii Pacific did the same thing, and they are not in good standings with their accreditation body. Usually construction costs gets added when the original estimates are under the real costs.
