Is that an explorer guitar headstock?

It is. That’s his favorite. He also has a Strat and an Ibanez (his first guitar). He got the Explorer because one of his guitar heroes is Allen Collins from Lynyrd Skynyrd. He’s just missing the old Maestro Vibrola bar.

Thats awesome... I've always wanted a good explorer but I'm a little to old for the look and I'm not James Hettfield so I play Les Paul's and SGs.

That’s cool. Can’t really go wrong with either one of those. I imagine at some point Shepherd will meet up with a Les Paul. He’s always said he wants a Les Paul Jr. Double Cut and a Gibson ES. I want to get him a Fender Telecaster.

Your Hettfield quote was funny. It’s surprising who we identify guitars with. I see explorer and Think Allen Collins from Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ricky Medlock of Blackfoot and Skynyrd. Collins actually bought that Explorer off of Eric Clapton and now it’s in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. When Shepherd got to Liberty and opened his guitar case the guys around him were like, “Oh cool! You have the same guitar The Edge plays.” LOL! I know Dave Grohl plays an Explorer quite a bit as well.

Newest single out today. His mama credits this song with saving my life. The night they called the family in to say goodbye to me when things were going bad, Shepherd came to my bedside and sang this song to me. My wife said my vital signs immediately began to improve and I stabalized.
