Beef, Beans, Onions, Tomatoes, Tomato Juice, Spice.... all I need for Chili
I fix pasta on the side. We have Brown Sugar and Cinnamon for those so inclined. Peanut butter for sandwiches. (Never understood but my Hoosier friends love peanut butter and chili)

This might make me a bad person, but I like Skyline and Goldstar. A couple other things that I found a little peculiar was the number of bowling allies and the United Dairy Farmers gas stations, not that I'm complaining, nice to know you can get a good scoop of ice cream at all hours of the night....just in case.
United Dairy Farmers (most refer to it as UDF) was founded and is headquartered here. It’s a separate entity, but the same family that owns American Financial Group (also headquartered here) run it. UDF is a city staple. The Lindner family is one of the richest families in the country, they also own our MLS team FC Cincinnati and the Lindner name is all over UC (Lindner Athletic Complex, Lindner School of Business, etc).
Bowling is big over in the west side were your mom is from. It’s the blue collar part of town. There is a big tournament there every year that draws bowlers from all over the country, the purse is $1M.

Cheviot was the ultimate all American neighborhood when I was growing up.
Unfortunately, it and Western Hills have deteriorated a bit since then. I blame the closing of Grand China, the best chinese restaurant ever, for that.
I contend that UDF's home made brand ice cream is much better than that flavored sugar paste that you get at graeters.

We passed through Northen Kentucky last weekend. Raising Cane's Chicken lived up to the hype. Bourbon House Pizza was also spectacular, although I was confused when they asked if we wanted ranch dressing with our deep dish pizza. Why on earth would you dip an amazingly perfect pizza in ranch dressing?

I've been asking a similar question. Why would anyone put mustard in BBQ?
It makes absolutely no sense.

You like Kentucky fried chicken? Then you've got to stop at the old Greyhound Tavern. It's just a hop, skip, and jump off 1-75 in Fort Mitchell.
Incidentally, Fort Mitchell is named after Ormsby Macknight Mitchel, West Point grad, founder of the Cincinnati Observatory in the early 1840s, and Civil War hero. Why the city added the additional "L" to his last name is a mystery. Probably has something to do with the quality of education across the river.

Take that for what you will, but it aint southern.
... unless the SEC wants to add us.
Cincinnati is a mixture of German and English - just like most of the South not named Louisiana or Southern Florida.
That said, the only thing that keeps Cincy from being an honorary Southern city is the chili. Learn how to cook real chili and you might be able to get into the club...
**** you and your Butcher's Apron.
The South is a mixture of Ulster Scots, Africans, Irish, Welsh, and Germans.
Lots of English in the South as well, IMO. What's really rare is to have southern Scandinavians. You have French in Louisiana and the Spanish in Florida & Texas.
You have to go to Minnesota or Oregon to find Scandinavians.

Raising Cane's sadly isn't in Florida.
For fast food chicken tenders I put them above Zaxbys
