I am doing this in part as a completist. Did the first run of these numbers in 2017, and updated it in 2018. I linked to it to make a point recently (someone on the realignment board trotted out that old misbelief that Boise is a copmarably good TV draw) and thought it would be nice to have 2019 in there.

This count of 1- and 2- and 3-million viewer games doesn't have any inherent value as a specific metric. But one thing it does is really capture the stark difference between what the AAC delivers, and what the G4 conferences deliver.

One other point - the reason I first pulled this together was that gulfcoastgal highlighted a fundamental error in many G4 fans' thinking - they overemphasize bowl games and the AAC's sometimes lackluster bowl performance as "that's what will be remembered." For G4s, that pre-Christmas bowl might be the biggest audience of the year, but for most AAC teams, the bowl game isn't. Just another example that most times someone says "It's true of all 'G5' that _____" it's probably true of the CUSA, MAC, mwc, and SunBelt but not the AAC.

I still think that the only real value in a Boise addition would be the damage it would do to the MWC competitively. Boise remains "the field" when we talk about the NY6 bowl inviting "AAC or the field". They will always be waiting in the wings for us to beat up on each other.
