NCAA bans championships being hosted in Mississippi due to state flag
"The NCAA Board of Governors is banning any NCAA championship events from being held in Mississippi.

The decision was made due to the Confederate symbol represented in Mississippi’s state flag.

The policy, enacted in 2001, previously included sites that were determined in advance of a championship, but now includes events where Mississippi teams may host championships.

This means Mississippi teams will not be able to host a regional or super regional championship on campus, for example."

IMO and long viewed, the Mississippi state legislature needs to adapt an improved new design of the state flag; but not because of the hypocritical, exploiting, and corrupt NCAA.

Sankey's response to the NCAA action is predictable.

So Sankey suddenly saw this as a problem and is considering taking action that bans Ole Miss and MSU as conference championship hosts? Why wasn't this ever discussed in the SEC prior? Maybe it was and no statement was released about it.

"Sankey said in a statement that until the Confederate emblem is removed from the upper-left corner of Mississippi's state flag, the conference will consider precluding SEC championship events from being conducted in the Magnolia State."

Your villain here is Disney. The SEC acted first. The NCAA was the copycat. It's all crap. And Sankey just sank to the bottom of the barrel as far as I'm concerned.

I hope the donors at all of our campuses make their voices heard. But I'm pretty sure Disney is the push and Finebaum has been walking the corporate line now for weeks. He needs to go as well.

What’s interesting is Georgia’s new state flag looks just like the “stars and bars” confederate flag. We’ll see if the BLM movement gets to this Coincidence.

Wink RE: NCAA bans championships being hosted in Mississippi due to state flag
Florida and Alabama have the starless crossbars. Actually, the Confederate battle flag drew from the British Union Jack. Part of the adaption at the time was an appeal by the Confederate states to garner British recognition and support.

IF the Mississippi State flag is going to be changed, I suggest a big magnolia bloom with a pastel background. OK, being a bit cynical here I suppose; but show the most unique and soothing identity. State license plates used it.

Ironically, there have been Mississippi State supporters who have viewed the state flag as more of a tribute and symbol of preference for the Ole Miss 'Rebels' rather than nostalgia and history.

Ole Miss fans started waving the state flag after the school barred Confederate flags at games. However, Clemson takes the cake for delusional displays:
