There's no reason. All the metrics are there to win with the possible exception of smaller attendance, which is just something we will have to accept due to the size of the school and the scattered alumni base.

And considering that we have claims to two national championships (three if you want to take the Alabama approach) then no, last year wasn't our 'best' year.
