Has Finebaum's been political in the past? It seems he wants to be woke enough to fit in at ESPN.

I never wanted this muckraking yellow journalist to be hired for the SECN at all. He is however committing suicide by towing the ESPN leftist agenda. He has more than alienated a large part of his base.

I figure he's gong to retire from this position so his real leftist side is finally being revealed to the Alabama fans who thought he loved them. He's never done anything but stir crap and dodge responsibility.

Feinbaum doesn't stick to reporting sports news. Chat and open mics are fine if done professionally. However, his employer(s) allow him, for example, to convey which coaches need to be fired and hired in the SEC and other conferences. Those are institutional decisions, good and bad and his pressure and labeling isn't needed. He plays favorites to the extreme. His cadre of phone-in advisors/commentators often sound intoxicated and poorly educated. Does the SEC decision-makers really want to incorporate such in their media profile?

He does have informative guests much of the time and he does show good interview skills. Stick with what you are good at, and have parameters.

Sports talk show pundits and head coaches, wherever they are on the political spectrum, need to practice enough discretion to not thrust themselves into unnecessary controversies concerning party politics, religion, and culture wars. Just sports alone, whether the NFL, NBA, MLB, the NCAA, etc., already have loaded plates with social, cultural, and legal challenges.

I never watch or listen to sports shows, any of them, on television or radio.

No call in shows, coaches shows, predictions shows, halftime shows, none of them.

No Sportscenter, no conference network shows, no podcasts. Zilch.

They would all go out of business if they depended on me to survive.

I find them all useless.

I can read game summaries and game statistics, etc...no need to spend time watching or listening to "experts" or TV or radio "personalities".

Life is better that way. I watch live games (in other years) and nothing else.

Now? I don't turn on any sports programming at all, haven't since live spring sports games were cancelled.

I find them somewhat entertaining but, of course, they are useless.

What are you going to do with Jesse Palmer's prediction of the CFP committee's top 5? Nothing. What are you going to do with Mack Brown's pre-game interview question on whether the rain will have an effect on the game? Nothing. It's all meaningless.

I wouldn't do anything with them. I never heard them.

Paul Feinbaum covers the life of Nick Saban much like the Daily Mail [speculating] covers Caitlyn Jenner.

Too much information.

There needs to be more than Finebaum on the SEC Network and during those college football review shows throughout the family of ESPN channels.

Paul has been carrying A ton of college football programming and analysis across all platforms for ESPN. It’s honestly too much work for Paul and leads to a biased or overemphasized coverage of Paul’s views across the Network. I was even disgusted withLaura’s NFL draft picks coverage as all she ever did was talk nothing but Tua. Joe Burrow has one of the best seasons ever in college football and the majority of the talk was Tua’s health and where he might land in the draft.

They'll never fire him. He's way too attractive to lose.
