Excellent question.

Quote:A new conference must have at least seven members of former conference to split.

Wrong. Schools can form whatever conferences they want, if they're willing to go without an autobid. Qualifying for an autobid takes 8 years.

A moderator has his facts wrong again. So like those schools would essentially abandon basketball with no bid or money.

By the rules, they could do that, yeah. This list of schools (to be honest, I didn't even read the list of SBC/CUSA/MAC schools) would be crazy to give up guaranteed NCAA tournament money for an outside chance of TV money for football. But they COULD do it.

If the Big East had to, we could have lived without autobids for 8 years because we had the Fox contract in hand and we collect credits from at-large bids. It would have sucked for nonrevenue sports, but if it that was the price of splitting, so be it.

Quote:He should be forced to resign as he's so inclmpetent.

Inclmpetent. I am wounded, deeply wounded.

Wasn't NoDak supposed to be leaving us at the end of May because of his other fantasy conferences never came into being or was even talked about.

You refused to define the terms of the bet. (I suspected that you'd claim victory based on "secret plans" that only NoDak knows about). You said that some school or other might need to wait until their new president was installed on June 1. I declared my terms--one new FBS conference, publicly announced, by July 1.

It's a gentleman's bet. You are free to welsh on it, I doubt anyone will think less of you.
