Only a bastard would remind us of this nightmare ending... and you’re doing it to folks who have been beaten down for a few years now.

Admittedly, I would do the same; it’s just no fun when it’s done to you LOL.

LOL rewatching this game even knowing the ending was giving my a heart attack. I also wanted to give a hat tip to the season y'all had. Shows you can get back there with the right people at the helm.

I knew we were doomed after this game. UCF really did break us. But for this game, ECU likely stays competitive all these years if you think about it. Congrats as you guys have gone from being our b**** to now being a role model for us. To the victors go the spoils but this game is a tough pill to swallow even now when you consider the trajectory we've traveled since then. I believe we're finally about to break through again but this experience has humbled our fan base more than anyone could have ever foreseen and I know I won't take anything for granted moving forward.

I was shocked on the last drive how awful ecu’s clock management was. I remember thinking while it was happening, “why the hell are they doing that?” Still a great finish.

I remember the night vividly: I was screaming for us to do something, anything to just run out the clock... and we failed to do so.

Even worse, we allowed WRs to get behind the D. The rest is history.

This game did break us but we’ll be back, hopefully sooner rather than later. In the meantime, do us a favor and beat the snot out of UNC.

RE: Flashback to 2014 @ECU
We did what every Ruffin McNeil team did down the stretch, choked it away. The year before in 2013 we won 5 in a row going into the last week of the season, including a win against NC State. Sitting at 9-2 and a chance to play for the C-USA title we went on the road and were hammered by Marshall 58-28. We were completely unprepared for that game.

Exactly. As I said, we were our own worst enemy. UCF didn’t break us, we did. And it’s been hell since.

ECU outgained Temple 428 yards to 135 yards that day. ECU had 8 fumbles (which is insane) and they lost 5 of those. Temple had 4 fumbles and recovered all 4. Crazy stats.

Really the moment that Temple and ECU switched places in the conference for football basically.

I remember shooting that game.

I couldn't fathom then end game, I couldn't fathom our poor clock management to keep another possession from happening, and I couldn't fathom the trend afterwards.

It also broke the black jersey winning streak in EPIC fashion.

I do have to agree that these kinds of errors were building up at the end of the Ruff era though...

Heh, we owned UNC under Ruff, and didn't really let off in the Scottie Mo era either LOL.
