App has been playing basketball since the 20s and counts among their ranks one of the originators of the jump shot:

SlAppy academics are the joke. At one time we were with you, Troy, Coastal Carolina and San Jose State. Only 2 grad degrees in Boone and less than stellar colleges all around.

Marshall Forensics Program #1 in the nation
Marshall Journalism Program #6 in the nation
Marshall Physical Therapy #7 in the nation
Marshall Rural Medicine Program #11 in the nation
Marshall Pharmacy Program #12 in the nation

Im sure Im forgetting a few top 15 programs in the nation at Marshall.

There are a few people on this board that regularly speak against sharing a conference with Troy ever again. They would feel the same way about Appy if they knew how low your academic standings are. Appy has 70 degree programs but only 2 doctoral programs, that would be Educational Leadership (Education) and Clinical Psychology (Psychology).

As an athlete at Appy your 1st 2 years its only required to have a 1.8 as a freshman and 1.9 as a Soph to be eligible. As a Junior you are required to have 45% of your required classes complete and a 2.0 and a Senior requires 80% of a degree and a 2.0.

Marshall may not be Harvard, Yale or Rice but at least athletes need a 21 on the ACT or 1175 on the SAT. You also must that 25% of your classes each year until your senior year where to have to finish with 85% of your degree completed all while maintaining a 2.3 for eligibility.

Marshall and Appy haven't been peers academically for the better part of 20 years.

Appys academic profile with Carnegie has changed only 2 times since it started in 1905 from: Baccalaureate Colleges to Master's Colleges & Universities: Medium Programs to Master's Colleges & Universities: Larger Programs. Appy State's academic profile hasn't moved the needle in over 30 years.

And OK 72-73 is when Appy moved up to IA. Still doesn't mean you have any meaningful basketball seasons. Your basketball has been less than mediocre. Appy has more single digit seasons, 11, than 20 win seasons, 7, since moving to DI.

wow Marsha being Marsha. Do you do your Marsha academic research the same place you did your App basketball research (IE in your head)?

Literally nothing you said is accurate.

I'm not going to look into all your programs you listed, but US News world and Report has Marshall Pharmacy as (tied) for 79th, alongside fellow heavyweights ULM, Shenendoah and Midwestern University.

https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-sch...y-rankings

according to college simply, Marshall trails app in the following categories:

Admission rate: 90% Marsha 69% App
SAT Range 25-75 910-1130 for Marsha, 1100-1270 for App
ACT Range 25-75 19-25 for Marsha, 23-28 For App
6 year graduation rate: 44% Marsha, 65% App

absolutely hilarious you tried to rip on academic requirements for athletes considering Marshall's sordid history with non/partial qualifiers (and were completely wrong in doing so- LOL 1175 requirement for SAT, thats more than 75% of people admitted to marshall, probably around the 90th percentile).

You were totally right about not being academic peers though.

I think we call all agree that no one wants to be conference mates with Troy...for academic reasons of course.

WHO is on BOTH lists?

They are almost identical. Each of us had no idea the other would do these related threads.

Teams on BOTH lists (no particular order)

LA TECH
Louisiana
MARSHALL
MT
WKU
UAB
Appalachian St.
Ga Southern
ODU

If you consider geography and basketball Ga St. would be difficult to leave off. Ranked #5 on the "data list" is Southern MISS-- also must be included for football tradition, name recognition, and geography. Use your own opinion for a twelfth team. Arkansas St. ? Charlotte?(geography).

One thing for sure. A league like this would be stronger than either the C-USA or SBC.

Technically we're a reserve on Auburn Blazer's list.

Close enough mturn017.
ODU is probably a #5 on my unscientific basketball only group and a #13 on his data driven list. Averaged together (#9)-- you make the "list". Remember this is all just hypothetical message board fun (never happen). I do think my list in post #39 is a VERY good one.

LA TECH
Louisiana
MARSHALL
Appalachian St.
MT
WKU
UAB
Ga Southern
ODU

AND add on SOUTHERN MISS, Ga St., Ark. St. or CHARLOTTE.
