RE: Conference realignment and the UAC
Jeff Goodman reporting that NJIT will join America East effective immediately. Some twitter drama with the ASun commish saying it’s not completely true? Anyways, this could void any hopes of the ASun spinoff league. It also reaffirms my stance that ASun leagues can’t keep members and it would be very risky to leave the SoCon for the UAC. This would be another “Belmont” leaving in the dark of night. Especially if it’s true that the ASun commish had no idea about it. Yikes.

Would make them the 28th FORMER member since the 1978 TAAC (Transition Away Athletic Conference) formation.

ASun rumors all over Twitter, including them looking to add Bellermine and GET THIS - Lincoln Memorial University. Twitter rumors all over the place about who is leaving, NJIT as mentioned, appears to be moving along.

Bellarmine already joined and begins play next season. I know nothing about Lincoln Memorial University.

BREAKING: Delaware St is rumored to be looking into leaving the struggling MEAC and join the NEC. The DSU board of trustees held a meeting on Thursday relating to leaving the MEAC. DSU will join a list of several MEAC schools looking into leaving the conference.

Bethune Cookman is heading to the SWAC. Once again the ASun is gonna have to find D2 schools to fill their roster. Schools would be crazy to join a “UAC” run by the ASun.

Just announced, the WAC is starting an FCS a football league by taking four members of the Southland. Central Ark. says they are leaving the Southland to join the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Will the SoCon be able to hold on to its public football schools.

Did read somewhere in all this Central Arkansas announcement that the ASUN is looking to elevate football to FBS in order to keep Liberty?

I have to eat my words, it's officially crazy time. The ASUN pulled it off. Congrats and good luck. I forget where I said it, but it's still, in my opinion, a high risk move to join. If a SoCon team joins, their spots will be filled and won't be available if the ASUN football league failed.

If ETSU joins the ASUN again I think that's a sign of the end of times.

RE: Conference realignment and the UAC
Any updates on ASUN football? Can’t believe I’m asking given ETSU’s Atlantic Sun Conference experience. Good grief, what nightmare days for Bucs Athletics. Never mind that — checking in to now, is this new ASUN after anyone in the SoCon? Notice they’re teamed up with the WAC for this year calling it the ASUN-WAC Challenge. From an old school perspective — the SoCon was once rated as one of the top FCS conferences, if not the best as we dreamed of bigger things. Of course those key departures took all that away. Back to now, it’s 2021 — where is the SoCon headed in football, along with ETSU football, along with FCS football, along with college football?
