History in the making as far as recruiting goes. That is, a 5-star recruit going to a HBCU.
It's just a publicity thing. He's going to the G-League. Maybe if something goes awry and he can't play in the G-League he'll be forced to play for Howard lol? That would be interesting to see.
Btw Bobcat what’s the latest on your coach- you guys could be on the other side of the current issues and start losing players and recruits if a change isn’t made.

From what I've read on our board it seems like we're gonna keep him. When I first read the tweets I wanted him to be gone yesterday thinking that the longer we kept him the more damage would be done to our program. I definitely expected more players to come out and make similar statements and there were a few more but there were 10x more that came out in support of Coach Kaspar. I don't want to call the players tweet about his treatment sour grapes but he was also going to go from starting PG to 3rd string had he stayed. If Kaspar is in fact staying then hopefully the positive endorsements from many of his former players will offset any negative effects that all of this has brought, and hopefully he will have learned a lesson and clean up any speech that could be considered racially insensitive.
Regardless it's a tough situation for our AD. It's basically a lose lose for us. Do we appeal to the modern climate and fire a guy who has turned our basketball program from terrible to solid over one former player's tweets? Do we keep him and potentially ruin our program's future from negative optics (this could potentially spill over and affect other sports as well)? We'll see what happens....

Mr. Maker was on one of the morning NBC Today shows (can't recall which hour). Not only does he seem like a very intelligent young man, he seems very energized about attending Howard. I guess we'll see if he winds up in a G-League instead (if there is one...for that matter, if there is college hoops either this winter), but if he bypasses his commitment to Howard, he certainly put on one helluvan act on national TV this morning.

I could definitely be wrong here. It would be really fun to see how high a player of his caliber can drag Howard.

David Robinson took Navy pretty far. He was not a 5 start recruit heading into Navy, but was a 5 star NBA recruit heading out of Navy.
Yep, it will be interesting to watch......

The Admiral went to Navy and then had a growth spurt, had it come earlier he wouldn’t have ended up there. He developed and played at Navy. If any sport it could happen would be basketball as you do the one and done, a few classes in the fall and never set foot inside a classroom after XMas break, even so I highly doubt this kid ever suits up for Howard,

I heard that Charles Haley grew about 6 inches while at JMU, which is what got him into the NFL. Can anyone confirm that?

I met him within my 1st week at JMU. He was a big, bad dude. May have added a little more muscle by graduation, but he was 6'4" as a frosh.

Saw on the ESPN crawl this afternoon while watching PTI that the SWAC has decided to move football to the spring. Interesting to see who, if any, follows suit.

I think JMU should BE THE CHANGE. That is, play football this Fall AND next Spring.
