GaTech Pledge: No Athletic Activities on Election Day
I can get down with this.

Congrats  Georgia Tech for making a stand and doing something tangible that impacts its student athletes’ voice.

Wish it was a federal holiday. Not getting home from work until 6 takes out the fun for a lot of people.

RE: GaTech Pledge: No Athletic Activities on Election Day
In 2018 and 2019, the Champions Classic (Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State) was held on Election Day. It served as the "Opening Night" of the men's basketball season. Assuming a normal season for 2020-21 (good luck with that), the Champions Classic will be November 10, not Election Day, this year, though. I'd guess ESPN wouldn't want the Champions Classic in general to be held on Election Night during a presidential election year although they did have it on Election Day in a midterm election year.
