CAA "Extreme Flexibility Model"
I suppose many of you have gotten your wish, at least for now.

The CAA's official position towards scheduling in all sports except FB, MBB and WBB in 2020-21 boils down to "ehh, do whatever you want, we'll settle up later."

Personally, I don't like it, but I get it, reality is what it is right now. I hope that conferences will not make stuff like this "the new normal." YMMV.

If they're not going to do divisions they need to save money anyway they can. No one really loses if the UNCW volleyball team plays home and home with JMU and William and Mary so they dont have to travel to Northeastern and Hofstra

Right. This school year, when budgets are going to be extremely squeezed, is the right time to try to eliminate as many plane trips as possible and eliminate as many team hotel stays as possible.

Well, Northeastern and Hofstra (and College of Charleston) lose.

Before, they had their conference schedules filled. Now they have to scramble. Sure, everybody has to scramble, but Towson is going to have a much easier time securing home-and-homes with Drexel, Delaware, JMU and William & Mary than the outlier schools.

Everyone in the middle of the conference is going to preferentially play each other, leaving the schools on islands short games.

A lot of the benefit of a conference goes away at that point. Now if the A-10 does the same sort of thing, that eases the strain.
