C-USA changes
Brett McMurphy reporting C-USA men’s and women’s hoop tourneys will be reduced from 12 to 8 teams and league is also reducing regular season games or postseason format in other C-USA Olympic sports.

Why can't we get these stories from our own reporters?

IMO eight is enough anyway.

I like the idea of reducing from 12 to 8 teams for the bball tourneys. This should have been done years ago and will make the regular season more meaningful.

I agree. Good to see CUSA making the correct changes.

Agreed, no sense in a 12th-place team playing in the post season. All leagues should do this permanently.

I like it. If there are only 8 teams that means Tech can’t lose to a 12 seed.

Considering we haven’t finished outside the top 8 since 2014-2015. Yeah, that must be it....

Considering CUSA never had a chance at an at large bid, you mean the regular season might actually means something now? That's a positive change.

RE: C-USA changes
I'm fine with dropping it to 12 teams, but this doesn't help anything considering it is still in Texas.

How is this going to help save money for Marshall, WKU, ODU, UAB, MTSU, and now Charlotte?

Also, thought we were going to more divisional play? How is this fair to the teams in the East for a mediocre West team to get in just because they play a weaker schedule?

clt says we charter flights for mbb, so this doesn’t change anything.

Weaker west schedule? Realtime RPI at the end of this past season had 4 of each division in the top 8 of the conference and 5 of each in the top 10. East had the #1 and the west had #2 and #3.

RE: C-USA changes
I think going to 8 or even to 4 is a good idea. I also think it would greatly help attendance and expenses to have higher seeds host all the way through the tournament or at least have the final 4 at the highest seed left at that point. That would ensure good crowds at least most of the time. Makes sense for a far flung conference.
