So schools that finish in 9 - 14 slots have no postseason. And these are the same schools that are obviously in the greatest need for improvement.

Yep, that should help with their recruiting and their ability to get better.

Ending those seasons earlier should improve the ability to get rid of habitually underperforming coaches sooner. Improvement should start in the offseason, not in the conference tournament.

Agreed, FriscoDawg. And to add on to that, if you have a losing record in conference play, you don't deserve to be in a conference tournament. If your basketball program is struggling and you need help with recruiting, hire a better coach. Still being eligible for your conference tournament when you're 10th or 12th out of 14 teams is putting makeup on a pig and will only lure recruits who have low standards to begin with.

It wasn't before ODU came along.

Drat and damn, fellow ODU evil-doers, they've uncovered our plot! We've been getting paid by the Sun Belt to undermine CUSA through underperforming in the money sports and grumbling on the message board.

Obviously we put all the money into the tennis facility.

I played college tennis...I can appreciate that.

Postseason shouldn't serve as a time for improvement for a program, postseason should serve as awarding excellence for a program. If a program can't get their stuff together during the preseason and regular season then tough chit for that program.

That's your issue with this?

I don't know, doesn't seem so bad to me. Especially if it's not permanent. I mean, it's cool to get hot and win the tournament as a 10 seed (I guess, it's cool if it's your team, not so much for the rest of the conference unless we have a decent at-large hope somewhere else) but if you finish 9th I think I can live with you not getting a postseason.

We have multiple threads calling for drastic realignment of multiple conferences. A few teams missing the postseason probably more in line with the kind of thing the conference ought to be considering at this point.

Exactly......very and highly unlikely that the extra 2 practices and 1 game will benefit for the following year especially now considering how many players transfer these days.

I’m upset because it’s fun watching other games. March is Maddness and anything can happen. It’s fun watching games that are close that should have been upsets.

Since this year we only played the first round 5-thru-12 games... next years plan makes sense, to even things out.

You aren't going to get fans to stay there that long. One extra day is a day without work, and extra hotel room, and more food/drink. That hits the wallet pretty hard just because 2 games being played at once.
